November 2026
Dear theatre friends,
If you can schedule a few months ahead, you might still be able to snare a ticket for “Man to Man” with Tilda Swinton. It received sensational reviews in London, not only for her performance. A short run at Lucille Lortel.
Playing at Lortel right now, “222: A Ghost Story” also received fine reviews of its UK productions– try it if you like ghost stories!
“Saigon” , created by Caroline Guiela Nguyen, will be at St. Ann’s next month. It’s produced by the National Theatre of Strasbourg and is part of the Crossing the Line Festival , curated by L’Alliance NY (formerly known as FIAF- French institute Alliance Francaise). Taking place in a restaurant, in the 1950s and 1990s, it ambitiously addresses the Vietnamese sense of belonging in France. It’s captioned in English, but performed in French and Vietnamese– essayez-la!
You still have time to see Bedlam’s “Othello” , highly praised by Helen Shaw in her New York Times review . This company’s stripped down versions of classics can be quite enthralling– until the end of the month.
Another classic, Sophokles” “Elektra” , is bound to thrill in a new translation by esteemed poet, Anne Carson. Only until December 6th.
And last, a new work, “The Steel Man” by Cary Gitter, is directed by Joe Brancato at 59e59. It received this positive w orld Premiere review when Penguin Rep produced it in 2024.
More to come…, thanks for reading!
