Mid Fall 2026
Dear theatre friends,
A few thoughts:
Please go to Irish Rep Theatre for their annual New Works Fall Festival of readings/ works in progress. You could have been the first to have seen “The Honey Pot”, for example, at last year’s.
“The Visitors” will be at Signature, a Second Stage production. It’s by Bryna Turner, directed by Jenna Worsham.
You might like to try a comedy, “Legerdemain” , a world premiere from The Tank. It’s written by Lynn Rosen, directed by Julie Kramer
If you didn’t get to “Tristan and Yseult” at St. Ann’s two decades ago– you have another chance to see this tour-de-force– adapted and directed by the venerable Emma Rice.
You may notice how many new works are written and directed by women– not so much a phenomenon off Broadway, but still one to be noticed. And applauded!
If you’re not already familiar with National Theatre Live’s website — do look at all the wonderful London productions being broadcast. Next month, “Golden Boy” by Clifford Odets with Josh O’Connor will be at multiple venues– it’s gotten raves and is on right now at The Almeida. It’s much less expensive than the airfare!
More to come…, thanks for reading!
Carol
