Dear theatre friends,
I rarely see a play requiring an urgent email– however, last night I was totally engrossed in “The Mistake” by Michael Mears. It’s NY premiere is part of 59e59’s Brits Off Broadway Festival, after receiving rave British reviews in Edinburgh and then in London, Bristol, Stratford….
Full disclosure: “The Mistake” received my Incentive Award during the awful Covid hiatus. After many years of research and development, Michael was then able to bring it to the Fringe when it re-opened in 2022. It was immediately picked up by The Arcola Theatre in London and many other venues.
Last night was my first viewing of the finished work– it only runs until May 11th. If you enjoy intense, intelligent, enriching plays– make no mistake– “The Mistake” is one not to be missed!
More soon, Carol
